Jana Sean Movie Review

Pawan, the new Angry young man!

Intro: Pawan Kalyan's most-anticipated Friday First Show- Jana Sena- has finally hit the screens amid star's humongous fanfare. With the show being screened live in TV channels and few screens across the State, the movie turned out to be instant hit. Curious to read our review on Pawan's speech? Check this out.

Analysis: The film began with its solo lead Pawan Kalyan making a splashy entry onto the screen. Simply clad in fawn-coloured-kurta and white pyjama, Pawan scored points with his very opening presence. He entered the dais amid deafening sounds from audience and chants "Jai Pawan", "Jai Jana Sena".

Pawan, visibly emotional, opened his speech quoting his favourite lines from Bala Gangadhar Tilak's poem, "The path is dark and there is no one to show the way or light but my willpower is strong enough." He said he would get inspire from these lines whenever needed. He said he is deeply hurt with the manner in which State is divided. And Pawan swiftly initiated a scathing attack on his political rivals- Congress, TRS.

Interestingly, Pawan opted a "reverse" strategy to attack Venkaiaha Naidu, V.Hanumantha Rao, Telangana Jagruthi Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Digvijay Singh, Chidambaram, Ahmed Patel whereas he directly attacked Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, TRS leaders.

Pawan's references to Bhagat Singh (referring that Singh's age was half of Pawan's present age when the former died), Subhash Chandra Bose are highlights. His explanation- evacuating residents for the expansion of Gandhi Bhavan- to his previous comments on Congress leaders during 2009 elections is convincing. Especially, Pawan's reaction to remarks against his personal life is brilliant, spell-binding. Pawan's counter attack on V.Hanumantha Rao by sarcastically questioning, "Is Rahul Gandhi a Brahmachari?" is hilarious best and tickles one's funny bones.

Pawan Kalyan's mentioning of assaults against women steals the thunder and floors all girls, women. Pawan's witty comments, "I don't segregate my friends as Telangana friends, Muslims friends." Pawan's statement on Kapu leaders, "I didn't ask any Kapu leaders to join forces with me. I refuse to be slotted as a kapu or a person from Coastal Andhra. I am an Indian." Pawan's citing injustice done to Telugu man P.V Narsimha Rao leaves Telangana Congress leaders into defense. This scored big in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions as Pawan lifted the stance of Telugu pride.

Finally, Pawan Kalyan set the record straight that he would help his best to form stable governments in both states for development. He also honestly admitted that he is not yet prepared for polls. All in all, it's Pawan's one man show. This is pakka Paisa-vasool and out-and-out mass entertainer. Looks like, a political blockbuster is on the way!

Thumbs Up:

1. Pawan's witty punch-lines [Pawan's satire on Rahul Gandhi in his counter to V. Hanumantha Rao; Pawan's reply to Kalvakuntla Kavitha and calling her 'Chellamma' (sister)]

2. Pawan's dialect [Often shifting his dialect from Telangana to Andhra depending on situation]

3. Pawan's emotions, facial expressions, hand gestures and demeanour

4. Monologues

5. Jana Sena Title song (Composed by Indranganti Lakshmi Srinivas, penned by Rahman)

6. Pawan's pointing out abuses, assaults against women and girls.

7. Pawan embracing Telugu pride by citing examples like P.V Narsimha Rao.

8. Pawan Kalyan's stand against caste, region segregation.

9. Pawan's hard-hitting speech.

10. Pawan lending his hands to join forces with like-minded parties to restrict Congress coming into power.

Thumbs Down:

1. Pawan didn't talk about PRP-Congress merger.
2. Pawan's shielding of his elder brother Chiranjeevi.
3. Little excess of melodrama.

4. Pawan strictly stick to attack his rivals rather than revealing his Party's ideology.
